MISSIONARY
CAMP CONCEPT
The project of the missionary camp is one of the ways, that as a church, we pursue these objectives:

-
Generate resources to sustain the local church in a poor town here in Costa Rica.
-
To provide jobs for the local people.
-
To provide a safe recreational center for the community.
-
To have an impact in the community in doing social work (such as building houses, sidewalks, public dumpsters, and more) for the people in the community.
-
To bring sound doctrine and resources to Costa Rica.
-
To prepare, send and support missionaries around the world.
CCPA is a place where people can come and use the facilities for their retreats, camps and mission trips. The campers needs such as housing, food and recreation will be met by the camp. In return, the camp will receive monetary compensation, which will help provide economic stability to the project.
Furthermore, those same facilities serve to bring and unite the community through various activities. The facilities also serve for the campers who visit to grow spiritually. This means the facilities of CCPA will become a multipurpose buildings that will immediately meet some of the physical needs of Playa Azul.
The camp will also serve as a booster for missions to anywhere in the world (including Costa Rica). To do so we will work alongside local churches to encourage, train, and finance missionaries.
The Missionary Camp facilities represent the physical home for the development of the activities of the Iglesia Bíblica Playa Azul and its’ vital mission of evangelization.
The Christian Camp will also benefit the citizens of Playa Azul as it generates jobs for them. On one hand, it will hire locals to work as the personnel necessary for running the activities. On the other hand, it will purchase a large part of its supplies from the local producers and businesses in the community.
Also, the camp will be a center that will provide sound doctrinal resources not only to the community, but also to the country. The camp will do this by bringing books, conferences and speakers that are committed with the health of the local church in Costa Rica and Latin America.
These groups can be formed along with others by:

Missionary groups.
Youth groups.
Associations and Christian groups.
Schools and Colleges.

SOLUTIONS
FOR THE COMMUNITY
MATERIAL
The missionary camp concept will not only help us serve the locals with biblical teaching and resources, but also to provide them a place where they can grow in all aspects. The facilities are the place where the local Church resides it is crucial to the growing and maturity of the members. These same facilities will also be used to host community outreaches through various activities. By the creation of the Christian Camp Playa Azul and its facilities, some of the physical needs of Playa Azul will immediately be met, such as the following:
1. A suitable place for teaching that has:
-
Main meeting area.
-
Dining area.
-
Children’s class.
-
Family and youth center.
2. Study Center, which will give new growth opportunities in personal and work life for locals where:
- Courses are offered by state or private entities for the development of the locals.
-
English classes (a language that is needed for jobs in Costa Rica).
-
Courses for early stimulation in a class that is adequately equipped.
-
Individual tutoring for kids to enhance education.
3. Physical Training Center, which will provide:
-
Swimming classes.
-
Fitness classes.
-
Soccer classes for kids.
-
Soccer matches.

(In all of this, Iglesia Bíblica Playa Azul members and the campers (or missionaries) will be taking a crucial part of making all of this effective).
SOCIAL
Through the missionary camp project we will not only be laying sidewalks, building houses, and constructing public dumpsters, but also doing beach cleaning, planting of coconut trees, putting street signs up, and more. These projects will be carefully evaluated to determine their feasibility and priority, and ranked in order to properly plan them.
Once done, the following 3 groups will be involved in carrying out these projects:
-
Iglesia Bíblica Playa Azul.
-
Groups of campers who offer their services for the Missionary Camp.
-
The People of Playa Azul.
The intention is that each group listed above fulfills an important role in the running of the project, and in dividing and coordinating tasks efficiently.
Some examples of the coordinated work:
-
Planning (Camp).
-
Obtaining Financing (Camp and campers).
-
Purchase Materials (Camp and campers).
-
Labor (Camp, Campers and Local People).
-
Project implementation (Camps, Campers and People).
-
Many of these projects will be supervised and approved by the municipality of Tárcoles, which will be responsible for permits and authorizations. This is possible because there is an agreement between the Camp and the Municipality as recorded in a signed and notarized document.
